Configuring Kiosk Mode in Google Chrome for Automatic Printing

Instant Printing with Kiosk Mode

For the main computer of the cash register, every second counts. If every time you press "Print Receipt" the browser opens a white print window where you have to press "OK", this slows down the service.

With Kiosk Mode in Google Chrome, the receipt comes out of the thermal printer within 0.3 seconds without any window appearing on the screen!

How to Configure on Windows:

  1. Close all Google Chrome windows.
  2. On the Desktop, right-click the Google Chrome icon and select Properties.
  3. On the Shortcut tab, find the Target field.
  4. At the end of the existing line (after the chrome.exe" quotes), add a space and type this parameter:
    --kiosk-printing
    The complete line will look like this: "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk-printing
  5. Press Apply and OK.
  6. Select your thermal printer as the Default Printer in Windows.

Result:

Open the cash register via this icon. From now on, every time you press "Confirm and Print", the printer will print the receipt immediately without any pauses!
